Georgia Power Plant Scherer

SG Energy Solutions upgraded critical electrical systems at Georgia Power’s Plant Scherer, enhancing control platform reliability and long-term performance for one of North America’s largest coal-fired power stations.
Our team executed structured wiring, system disconnection, and instrumentation installation to support improved safety and future adaptability.

Scope of Work

SG Energy delivered an electrical systems upgrade, including demolition and controlled disconnection of the main power supply, followed by installation of updated wiring and new instrumentation and controls components. The scope also included updated electrical drawings and documentation that support future maintenance and modernization efforts.

Challenges

During execution, thorough site walk-throughs were conducted to assess existing conditions and identify integration requirements. A dedicated SG team member worked daily with the onsite engineering staff, enabling real-time coordination and problem-solving.

Solutions

SG Energy provided meticulously mapped electrical documentation and redline drawings that captured the modifications and enhancements made to the electrical infrastructure. This robust documentation serves both current verification and future reference, reducing risk during ongoing operations and future system upgrades.
